Privacy Policy — Cardmox

Summary

Cardmox helps you scan and organize business cards on your iPhone. We do not operate a username-and-password account for this app. We do not sell your personal information. We do not embed advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs in the app.

Your saved cards and folders are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud with the same Apple ID, synced through Apple’s CloudKit service. Card images and contact fields you save are not uploaded to our servers for storage.

Information processed on your device

Camera and scans

If you allow camera access, the app uses your camera to capture business card photos for scanning. Text recognition runs on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. You can review and edit fields before saving.

Saved cards and folders

Contact details you save (such as name, company, email, phone, notes, and optional card images) are stored in the app’s local database. When iCloud is enabled for the app, Apple syncs this data across your devices signed into the same Apple ID. We do not receive a copy of your synced library on our own servers.

Contacts

If you choose to add or remove a card in the Apple Contacts app, Cardmox writes only the contact you selected. The app does not read or browse your address book.

Exports and backups

When you export to CSV or JSON or share a backup file, you control where that file is sent (for example, Files, Mail, or AirDrop). We do not receive those files unless you send them to us.

Cardmox AI structuring (network)

When you use Cardmox AI, the app sends text lines recognized from the card and optional hints (such as a detected email or phone) to our secure processing service operated on Cloudflare. We do not send the card photo in that request. The service returns structured fields (for example name, title, company) so you can review them before saving.

Requests are protected with Apple App Attest so only genuine Cardmox installs can use the service. We use an app-attest key identifier and counters on our servers to prevent replay and abuse. Free users have a monthly limit on AI structuring requests per device; Pro subscribers have no monthly cap, but automated abuse prevention may temporarily limit extreme burst use.

We aim to process most AI requests in the European Union, but EU-only processing is not guaranteed. We do not use Cardmox AI requests to build advertising profiles.

Subscriptions and purchases

Pro subscriptions and free trials are sold by Apple through the App Store. The app uses StoreKit on your device to read whether you have an active entitlement. We do not receive your payment card details.

We do not use RevenueCat or similar third-party subscription analytics SDKs in Cardmox.

What we do not collect through the app

• We do not require you to create a login account with us.
• We do not collect your photo library beyond the card image you capture in the scan flow.
• We do not use Firebase, in-app advertising networks, or analytics SDKs that track you across apps.

This website

This site is static pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not use cookies for advertising. Standard server and CDN logs (such as IP address and requested URL) may be processed by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to respond to you.

Your rights and retention

You can delete cards and folders in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes local data from that device; iCloud copies follow Apple’s sync and deletion behavior for your Apple ID.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children

Cardmox is a business productivity app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at https://cardmox.com/privacy and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
